So this is the first time I have ever blogged... I got the idea from a friend of mine who blogs about her two cutie kids. When I was deployed to Iraq in 07-08 (second deployment) I had sent an email to all of my family with a list of the top 10 reasons why I hated Iraq. My Best Friends Mom and Stepdad still laugh at my email 3 years later. Of course no one can find that infamous email but I am sure it included the following:
-I hated when I drop my laundry off to laundry with 10 pair of panties and only get 9 back.. I wonder if all the laundry workers (Pakastani's) are sitting around the washers smelling women's panties... I would rather think they got lost in the mix.
-I hated when we used to go out to the Iraqi Police Stations to train the IP's and I had to use the bathroom. Not only did I have tons of gear on and a leg holster but whenever I went around the building to "squat" out back... I always caught a dumb IP trying to catch a peek. Really can a girl pee in peace.
-I hated being in Kuwait... the heat and sand could drive any person crazy... I describe the heat to those who have never been there as.... You know how you open the oven after it has been on for a few hours and you lean down and when you open it the steam and heat steams over your eyeballs... thats how the summers feel in Kuwait. But lets not forget sweating on your walk to the shower trailer, taking a nice cool shower, leaving the shower trailer and sweating on the way back to the tent... why did I shower again?
I really wish I could find that email. I am sure there will be more memories of those past deployments and many more to come. But for now thats what comes to mind.
So in T-5 days I will leave for Fort Campbell KY to start pre-deployment training with my fellow Soldiers. This deployment will be a lot different but a vacation in comparison to the last two. Not really sure what to expect so don't worry you too will be just as surprised as me. But for now I relax at home with my hubby and my two great dogs Zoe and Patience. My hubby has subjected me to the Premier of Beavis and Butthead which I do not find funny. What I do find funny is how my dog Patience has developed this undying love for my husband in the past few months. I watch as she tries to get as close as possible to his face and nudges her neck against his face begging him to give her all of his attention. When did I become chopped liver? I am the one who is leaving for 9 months.. this is how you do me?
So I am hoping this blogging thing keeps my family and friend interested and helps this deployment go by with ease. Now to snuggle with my pups and watch some Triple D. :)
